SUPREME COURT QUESTIONS ON ISSUE OF AADHAAR CARD FOR THE HOMELESS

It have been set mandatory to get an Aadhaar card by every citizen of India as Unique Identifier and this process is on for years to enroll all the people of India in the Aadhaar card scheme.
Though many cases have been filed in many courts, including the supreme court regarding the privacy of the card details, the possibility of the process, the need etc. The central government has announced that Aadhaar card is mandatory to get almost all the benefits of the government, provided made mandatory to get mobile connection, bank account, gas connection, moreover must for the needs. The supreme court in hearing a case related with Aadhaar card has questioned about the possibility of providing Aadhaar card to the homeless. In India, nearly 2 million people are said to be homeless as per the survey and this has worried the supreme court to question the centre ” How will you provide aadhaar card to the homeless without a proper permanent address?”. Moreover, it has also asked the government to clarify whether these people, the homeless are not the citizens of India or do they not exist. The Government Pleaders and solicitor general has assured the court that they will find a proper solution to this issue through UIDAI
