A Quack was booked by Bangarmau Police for negligent act likely to spread infection dangerous to life, voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means, and also under section 15(3) of the Indian Medical council Act, for spreading HIV by using the same syringe for multiple persons, in UNNAO, Uttar Pradesh.

During a routine medical screening, reports revealed that few persons were infected by HIV from Bangarmau Tehsil, Unnao areas, which made the state health department to conduct screening camps. On investigation, the medical team found the persons infected with HIV had taken treatment from a quack named Rajendra Kumar who treats at low cost and had used the same syringe for multiple persons to save cost on needles and syringes.

On screening, the medical team found nearly 46 persons were infected with HIV and these persons were now monitored by NACO-National AIDS control society and administered with ART drugs to stop progression and transmission of the virus.
