Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the students of the country who were preparing for the board exams on February 16,2018. Modi’s lecture ‘Pariksha Par Charcha’ was telecast in the national television, broadcast in the radio and also streamed in the internet.
Now, the HRD- Human Resource Ministry has instructed all state governments to compile a report of feedback on PM’s interaction and moreover asked to submit proofs like photograph or video of the students’ participation. The schools across the country received such circulars from their respective state education departments to submit the evidence by February 19.
Circulars issued by various district chief education officers also included a form which sought details of the total number of schools, enrollment figures, number of schools where students viewed or heard the telecast, number of students who viewed it through television or radio or web streaming on the websites of the PMO, MHRD, Doordarshan, MyGov.in and through internet channels. But a senior HRD official clarified that, “The ministry has not asked for any report on participation of schools in the event. It was a routine feedback where no mandatory clause was given.”
