In a chilling incident, a Class X student was murdered with sharp objects in Nigdi area in Pune, police said on Tuesday. The victim, a resident of Chinchwad’s Purnanagar locality, was a student of Nigdi’s Amrita Vidyalayam and was appearing for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations.
The police have arrested an 18-year-old friend of the victim who lives in the same locality.The victim, who was studying along with a girl classmate at his residence, had gone to drop her home on his two-wheeler late in the night. “It seems to be a case of unrequited love. The friend, who was infuriated at the growing friendship between the victim and the girl, attacked the boy in a fit of jealousy while he was on his way back. The boy was found lying in a pool of blood near the old regional transport office in Purnanagar with slashes on his neck and head,” said Vijaykumar Palsule, senior police officer, Nigdi police station.He was rushed to Pimpri’s YCM Hospital, but was declared brought dead on arrival.
