Tiruchirappalli Notaphily society has fixed the venue for the GLOBAL CURRENCY EXPO-2018 to be held in July 13,14 and 15 at Sreenivasa Hall, Central Bus stand Trichy.
P. Vijayakumar, the founder and president of the society told, “Most of the things to be displayed, whether the antiques, stamps or currency, were once in use and held a meaning for the user. With the recent move towards a cashless society, we are not sure whether children of this era will even recognise coins and currency notes any more. These objects were once treasured, and now have to be reintroduced to the public. The currency coins and notes are valuable because they are no longer in circulation. This annual event is our attempt to educate the youngsters about the history in our midst. This Expo will feature about 40 stalls displaying currency notes and coins of over 150 countries. Collectors, young and old, will display their exhibits, offering interesting insights into the history of various countries. This Expo will display not only currency and coins but also stamps, matchbox labels and antiques of olden age”.
