Trichy: A medical centre with modern facilities was inaugurated on the main campus of Bharathidasan University on Monday.
The centre, inaugurated by city police commissioner A Amalraj, will provide free service to students, faculty and administrative staff of the university and residents in the staff quarters. The centre has three beds, multipara monitor, defibrillator, ECG machine, nebulizer and will be functional round the clock with a pharmacy and adequate stock of essential medicines.
Two doctors, four nurses and two supporting staff will be deputed by the Kauvery Hospitals at this centre. They have been provided accommodation on the campus itself.
Two onsite treatment-ready ambulances for emergencies are also available. More than two thousand students and 700 staff members will benefit the services.
