eight districts achieve a decent pass percentage

Trichy: With all the eight districts achieving a decent pass percentage, the examination results have given a fillip of sorts to the school education department in the central region. Karur came next to Perambalur in central region in pass percentage with 94.07 % from last year’s 93.85 %. The number of students who passed this year is 10,460 out of the 11,119 . Perambalur district jumped to third in the state-level ranking from its 13th position in 2018. Perambalur stood with 95.15 % this year. Thanjavur was next to Trichy in the number of students taking exam. While 28,864 students took the examinations, 26,282 passed. The district jumped from 90.25 last year to 91.05 in winning percentage.

Trichy achieved 93.56 % this year, moving up to 12th this year from its last year position of 15. Pudukottai district that had the record of 88.53 % pass percentage in 2018 joined to 90% club with a percentage of 90.01% . Out of 20,211 students, 18,191 students made it in Pudukottai. Perambalur and Ariyalur had only 8,468 students appearing for the plus two examinations this year, of which 7,594 students passed taking the percentage to 89.68 from 85.35 % last year. With 1.48%, a significant jump was seen in pass percentage for Nagappattinam. The coastal district recorded 87.45 % as against last year’s 85.97 %. In all, 15,584 students out of the 17,821 passed this year. Tiruvarur district brought cheers to the education department as they consolidated their position with 86.52 % this year from their previous year mark of 85.49 %. Of the 14,220 students, 12,303 got through.
