The security branch sleuths of Tamil Nadu Police reviewed security measures put in place at Sri Brihadeeswarar Temple (Big Temple), a World Heritage Monument, here on Friday.
The annual review, done by a team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Vasanthan, began around 10 a.m. and went on for about three hours. The team inspected metal detectors, closed circuit television cameras, CCTV control room and security measures in place at the temple.
A few of the 30 CCTV cameras installed at the temple complex were not functioning properly. The DSP had a discussion with the Archaeological Survey of India officials on increasing the security measures.
