The advertisement blitz launched by the Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society, popularly known as Co-optex, seems to have succeeded in reaching out to the customers. The Co-optex has launched a multi-pronged strategy to win over the confidence of customers. In addition to the campaign in print media, it has turned its attention on electronic and social media platforms for reaching out to the young customers and its has had its impact too.
The Facebook page of Co-optex Pothigai showroom in Tiruchi has received 1.08 lakh hits, followed by its Vairam showroom in Thanjavur with 72,000 hits till Saturday. Its showroom at Pattukottai too received hits in thousands. The Instagram account of Co-optex, which was launched recently, has about 20,000 followers.
“The multi-pronged campaign has been received well among the customers and it has translated into business as well. We keep on posting pictures of new products and fast moving items regularly,” said T.N. Venkatesh, Managing Director, Co-optex.He said that sales targets had been fixed for all Co-optex showrooms in the State. A preliminary report indicated that sales in most of the showrooms was good and they were expected to achieve the target.
The aggressive marketing, aimed at different age groups, has worked well. Moreover, most of the showrooms have also been refurbished with the contemporary ambience. M. Anbazhagan, Deputy Regional Manager, Co-Optex, Thanjavur, said that many customers have made enquiries on the products which figured in advertisements. The postings received instant hits on social media too.
He said there were 13 showrooms in Thanjavur region. A sales target of Rs.13 crore has been fixed in the region. Out of its sales target of Rs.2.96 crore, the Tiruchi showroom had so far transacted business worth Rs.1.75 crore. It was expected to go up further in the seven days prior to Deepavali.
