Free Health Camp for women on International Women’s Day in NITT Hospital in association with NSS & Ladies club
Free Health Camp for women on International Women’s Day was organized
for the benefit of the female fraternity. This camp was conducted by
the NITT Hospital in association with NSS & Ladies club, National
Institute of Technology on 07.03.2020 at 9.00 AM in the Hospital
The medical camp was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr Mini Shaji
Thomas, Director, NITT by cutting ribbon and lighting Kuthuvelaku in
the presence of Respected Chairman-Hospital Advisory Committee Dr N.
Anantharaman, Respected Dean Students Welfare Dr S. Kumaresan and
Respected Dean Research & Consultancy Dr Umapathy, faculties, NSS
officers, Ladies club officials, staff members and Hospital team.
The free medical check-up started with measurement of Height, Weight
and Body Mass Index, Blood Pressure monitoring after which all the
candidates were done with blood tests like haemoglobin and GMR. Then
they were guided for Gynaecologist consultation by Dr A. Shantha
Parthipan and Dr A. Keerthana Priyadharshini and Institute Medical
Officers Dr R. Priyanka and Dr M. Malaimala Sarasveni. Following the
consultation investigations like pap smear and mammogram, the scan was
done. The prescribed tablets by the gynaecologists and Medical
Officers were also provided.
Female faculties, staff members, campus residents and girl students
attended the programme, got benefited and were satisfied with the
medical camp. Over 90 candidates attended the Free Women’s Health Camp
and got benefited. As the response is good and many women requested,
mammogram scanning and pap smear testing has been extended for the
next day. The participants extended their hearty thanks to the
Hospital team and the Institute administration for conducting the camp.
